For the Pierced and Pregnant

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, lived a beautiful and married maiden with a rockin' bod and a sexy little belly piercing. The fair Mrs. Maiden was proud of her body jewelry, and her kickin' abs, and worked hard to make sure her belly stayed in "show-off" shape.

But when the fair Mrs. maiden learned that she was pregnant, she did what every mother she knew had done before her; she kissed her belly ring days good-bye. She now has a beautiful daughter and a slightly annoying piercing scar. But had the fair Mrs. Maiden known about Pregnancy Piercings, she might still be sporting that pre-pregnancy piercing herself instead of just writing about it for the sake of her loyal readers.

*Sigh*

Oh well, right?

Since my belly is far from the state it was in when I was happy to show off my pre-baby belly, (and yes, we are back in first person now) I'm just going to call this one a learning experience. And I know I can't have been the only woman who winced harder when it was time to put the body jewelry away than I did when I got the actual piercing.

I took a look at the 14 gauge x 2 inch long Maternity navel barbell for use during pregnancy. It's flexible, customizable for size, and allows for growth. Taking the place of the unforgiving stainless steel bar is a piece of non-toxic flexibe tubing already proven safe for various uses such as open heart surgery. And the fact that it comes sanitized and sealed in a sterlized pouch is even better.

The price is right, too, at just $15.99. Just one word of advice: As is already noted on the product site, it is recommended that you not use the Pregnancy Piercings should you be allergic to Latex or Plastic.

So here's the happy ending to my cheesy fairy-tale: since I have no need for a Pregnancy Piercing, I have one brand-new, unopened, still sealed and sanitary Pregnancy Piercing in silver to give away to one lucky winner. To enter, just visit the site and leave me a berrie (read: comment) telling me what other item you'd be interested in trying out. Comments will be accepted until midnight, EST, Nov. 2 and the winner will have four days from the announcement date to contact me or an alternate winner will be selected.

As always, extra entries will be available for those who:

* subscribe to my RSS feed and comment letting me know you did so.
* Blog about contest and link to this post.
* Non-bloggers can email three of their friends about the contest and CC me on the email. Girl Scout's honor that I will never bother these sweet people. I promise!
* Grab my Berrie Sweet Picks button and place it on your blog page. I'll check!
* Follow me on Twitter! (nickname: berriesweetest)
* Tweet the contest. To be eligible, you must use "Berrie Sweet Picks" in your tweet

Please note all entries MUST include a valid email address to be considered for the drawing! That means that well, all entries must include an email address to be considered valid. Simple enough, right? ;)

Good luck!

I so wanted this when I was pregnant! I ended up taking out my piercing around 35 weeks and thought it was out for good. But after I had my little one I was so sad it wasn't there anymore I shoved (literally) it back in! I would love to have this for number 2! I would also like to try the Child Safety Leash.

I didn't know pregnant women could continue sporting their belly piercings. What a great idea!

The Belly Belt would be great to have to extend the length of wear for regular clothing before having to buy maternity clothes!
